MISSIONS EDUCATION

We believe missions should be a priority in everyone’s walk with the Lord. It is important to see what God is doing locally, nationally and internationally. Missions education will take place through Missions class, service opportunities and three different missions trips.

Community Development Trip

Compass will spend a week visiting several local ministries and learning about what it looks like to take care of their community. Taking care of the community will build relationships, opening up doors to share the gospel. This trip helps empower students to see how they can plug into ministries wherever their future communities may be.

Disaster Relief Trip

Compass partners with Samaritan’s Purse for a week-long trip in the states to serve people in need. Their mission is to help the community recover after a natural disaster has struck. “We long to see people restored in their relationship with God and with each other and for their circumstances to be turned around.” Samaritan’s Purse

International Missions Trip

Compass students will have the opportunity to experience missions in another culture. We spend about 10 days shadowing a missionary family in the country they are serving. We live their everyday life with them and learn how they share the gospel and serve the Lord in their community.

Missions Through Service Opportunities

Compass takes part in Expeditions Unlimited's vision of impacting the lives of youth and adults through the use of God’s creation and outdoor adventure experiences. The main aspect of this will be assisting our staff in hosting a couple groups in the fall and in the winter. Compass will also partner with local ministries to get hands-on experience in serving the Lord together.
