One of the most important things at Expeditions Unlimited is the staff we hire. We look for men and women of God who are continually growing in their faith and their walk with Christ. We also look for people who love to spend time with students and share the love of God with them.
Steve & Lynn Higgins
Director
In 1987, God called Steve and his wife Lynn to form Expeditions Unlimited. Steve created Expeditions to lead wilderness trips and expanded the ministry in 2004 to include a year-round camp. Steve is always looking for a new adventure, and you will often find him dog-sledding, mountain-climbing, rock-climbing, or water-skiing. Lynn is the glue that holds this ministry together!

Associate Director
Steve began guiding for Expeditions in 2001 and came on full-time in 2008. He does all the scheduling at Expeditions and guides and hosts groups all year-round. He loves to spend time with his family and enjoys creating new experiences for people.

Zach & Kyrsten Campbell
Maintenance Director
Zach and Kyrsten joined our full-time staff in 2015. Zach heads up most of the maintenance around camp, as well as guides trips all summer and hosts groups on weekends the rest of the year. He enjoys hiking, hunting, fishing, and spending time outdoors with his family.

Spencer & Bri Cone
Gear Maintenance Director
Spencer and Bri joined our full-time staff in 2017. Spencer is a detail-oriented guy and does a fantastic job managing our huge amount of outdoor gear. On top of his responsibilities as gear maintenance director, he also hosts groups and guides full-time in the summer. Spencer enjoys creating things, dirt biking, and hiking around with one of his kids on his back.

Compass Director
Jill has been serving full-time at camp since 2015. She has a huge heart for discipleship and loves her role serving as Compass Director. She loves climbing, kayaking, hanging out with friends, and traveling the U.S. with her husband Matt in their handcrafted camper.

Conner Fisher
Compass Assistant Director
Conner joined our full-time staff in 2015. Conner has served in many different roles at camp, including Sherpa RA, Summer Guide, Weekend Host, and more. He is now using his guiding and gear expertise to serve in his role as the Assistant Compass Director. He loves sports, watching Psych, and is a total gear junkie!

Ana Arciniega
Housekeeping Director/ Administrative Assistant/ Support Raising Coach
Ana served on the summer maintenance crew before joining full-time staff as the Housekeeping Director in 2017. She manages the housekeeping crew and camp's media content. She also hosts groups on the weekend and guides wilderness trips in the summer. Ana loves cooking Mexican cuisine, pouring into relationships and spontaneous adventures!

Morgan Strokosch
Dining Hall Manager
Morgan joined our full-time staff in 2016. She has served in a number of roles here at Expeditions, and she is currently responsible for maintaining our dining hall and helping run our kitchen. Make sure you thank her for all the tasty meals you eat at camp! Morgan loves hammocking, making hummus, hiking, and basically any sort of exploration!

Maintenance Crew
Edgar and Valerie are the newest addition to our full-time staff! Edgar has experience with carpentry and was a trained chef for several years. Edgar will be joining the maintenance crew and bringing his expertise to that department. They are so excited to be jumping in to full time ministry!

Andrew joined our full-time staff in 2021. He has a passion for taking care of this ministry and keeping it running smoothly. We are lucky to have him as our fleet manager! Andrew enjoys hanging out with people, building things, and going on crazy adventures!

Jeff Fillmore
Sherpa Director/ Maintenance Crew
Jeff joined our staff in 2021. He has taken on the awesome role of Sherpa Director! He is also part of our maintenance crew during the fall and winter seasons and helps host groups on the weekends! Jeff enjoys coffee or tea with a good book, exploring new things, and having intentional conversations with people.

Eleesa joined staff part-time in 2023. She helps prepare meals for weekend retreats and jumps on housekeeping crew when needed. Growing up she visited and helped out at camp so it was natural for her to join us after she graduated our Compass program. Eleesa loves art, coffee, baking and hanging out with people!

GUIDING STAFF
Our guides are the heartbeat of all we do. A youth pastor once told us, "It never ceases to amaze me how you guys get quality staff summer after summer". We know how it happens. The Lord brings the right individuals to us year after year. We look for staff who are eager to serve and share the love of Christ with students. We couldn't function without our guides and can't say thank you enough for being a part of Expeditions Unlimited.

We had another great batch of Sherpas this summer! These high school students gave up their summer to volunteer at Expeditions and do a lot of the behind the scenes work. Thank you Sherpas for all the dishes you washed, all the cabins you cleaned, and your willingness to serve guides and students all summer long.
