One of the most important things at Expeditions Unlimited is the staff we hire. We look for men and women of God who are continually growing in their faith and their walk with Christ. We also look for people who love to spend time with students and share the love of God with them.
STEVE & LYNN
In 1987, God called Steve and his wife Lynn to form Expeditions Unlimited. Steve created Expeditions to lead wilderness trips and expanded the ministry in 2004 to include a year-round camp. Steve is always looking for a new adventure, and you will often find him dog-sledding, mountain-climbing, rock-climbing, or water-skiing. Lynn is the glue that holds this ministry together!
STEVE "SKOOBA" & ERIN VOSS
Steve began guiding for Expeditions in 2001 and came on full-time in 2008. He does all the scheduling at Expeditions and guides and hosts groups all year-round. He loves to spend time with his family and enjoys creating new experiences for people. He and Erin have four kids, Isaiah, Grace, Joshua, and Samuel.
ZACH & KYRSTEN
Zach and Kyrsten joined our staff in 2015. Zach heads up most of the maintenance around camp, as well as guides trips all summer and hosts groups on weekends the rest of the year. He enjoys hiking, hunting, fishing, and spending time outdoors with his family. Zach & Kyrsten have 2 kids, Zane & Griffin.
KELLY & SARAH
DIRECTOR OF SPIRITUAL &
Kelly and Sarah started serving at Expeditions in 2017 after having served in Papua New Guinea as missionaries. Kelly serves in a variety of roles, including construction, vehicle maintenance, chaplain, and fundraising coach. Kelly loves biking, running, hunting & spending time with his family.
SPENCER & BRI
Spencer joined our full-time staff in fall of 2017. Spencer is a detail-oriented guy and does a fantastic job managing our huge amount of outdoor gear. On top of his responsibilities as gear manager, he also hosts groups and guides full-time in the summer. Spencer enjoys creating things, dirt biking, and hiking around with one of his kids on his back.
JILL & MATT
Jill graduated from our Compass program in May of 2015 and has been serving full-time for camp ever since. She has a huge heart for discipleship and loves her role serving as Compass Director. She loves climbing, kayaking, hanging out with friends, and traveling the U.S. with her husband Matt in their handcrafted camper.
COMPASS ASSISTANT DIRECTOR
Conner graduated from our Compass program in 2015. He loved camp so much he never left! He has served in many different roles at camp, including Sherpa RA, Summer Guide, Weekend Host, and more. He is now using his guiding and gear expertise to serve in his role as the Assistant Compass Director. He loves sports, watching Psych, and is a total gear junkie!
Ana graduated from our Compass program in 2017. She served on the summer maintenance crew that summer before joining full-time staff as the Housekeeping Director. She is uniquely gifted for this role of serving our guests at camp. Ana also hosts groups and guides trips. Ana loves cooking Mexican cuisine, pouring into relationships and spontaneous adventures
DINING HALL DIRECTOR
Morgan graduated from Compass in 2016 and then joined our team later that fall. She has served in a number of roles at Expeditions, and she is currently responsible for maintaining our dining hall and helping run our kitchen. Make sure you thank her for all the tasty meals you eat at camp! Morgan loves hammocking, making hummus, hiking, and any sort of exploration.

Anna graduated from our Compass program in 2020 and jumped right into serving full-time here at camp. We are excited to have her serve with housekeeping, cooking, hosting, adventure education and probably much more! Anna loves art, sports, and hanging out with people.
COMPASS ASSISTANT DIRECTOR/ SHERPA DIRECTOR
Elaine has served 7 summers here at at camp, and joined our full-time staff in 2020. She serves as the Assistant Compass Director. Her heart for service and discipleship is a great blessing to the Compass Students! She likes running, reading, and spending time investing in people.
Andrew has served three summers at camp helping it run smoothly whether it was with groups, camp or car maintenance. Andrew has a passion for taking care of this ministry. He has now joined us full time as our fleet manager! Andrew enjoys hanging out with people, building things, and going on crazy adventures!
Jake graduated from our Compass program in 2021 and joined us again for a second summer of guiding! He is now joining our full time maintenance crew! He has a heart for sharing the gospel with students and getting to know them! Jake enjoys playing sports, spending quality time with people and being in creation.
Brant graduated from our Compass program in 2020 and jumped right into serving with our summer maintenance crew. Brant has a passion for serving and helping with whatever needs there are! He will be joining our full time maintenance crew. Brant enjoys fishing, going on outdoor adventures, and cooking!
Jeff has served 3 summers at camp as a wilderness guide and is now joining our full time family! Jeff will be part of our maintenance crew during the week and helping host groups on the weekends! Jeff enjoys exploring new things, being outdoors, and doing crazy adventures with friends.
Mackenzie has grown up serving at camp with her family in the summer. They would help run the kitchen and make the delicious food we have at camp! She is joining us part time as part of our kitchen staff! Mackenzie enjoys going to coffee shops, spending quality time with friends and family, and going on walks.
Sabrina has filled many roles at camp from being a sherpa student to sherpa RA to Guide and now serving full time in housekeeping!
Her passion is to share the gospel while serving and spending time with students! Sabrina enjoys exploring creation, baking, playing music, and making coffee!
Our guides are the heartbeat of all we do. A youth pastor once told us, "It never ceases to amaze me how you guys get quality staff summer after summer". We know how it happens. The Lord brings the right individuals to us year after year. We look for staff who are eager to serve and share the love of Christ with students. We couldn't function without our guides and can't say thank you enough for being a part of Expeditions Unlimited.
We had another great batch of Sherpas this summer! These high school students gave up their summer to volunteer at Expeditions and do a lot of the behind the scenes work. Thank you Sherpas for all the dishes you washed, all the cabins you cleaned, and your willingness to serve guides and students all summer long.
